Miracles on the Internet
This article was published by Rootsweb and selected to be included in their Great Genealogy Stories collection. It was written and submitted in July of 2000. Since that time, I have traveled to both New Zealand and to Scotland to meet family members of my grandfather, James William Blance. James and his four sisters and brothers were all British Home Children sent by the Quarrier Home in Bridge of Weir, Scotland to Canada. The letters mentioned in this story can be read on this web site. Just find John Hay Blance in the BHC database and they are printed as part of his story.
